Madison County, Alabama follows a Standard Parenting Clause

Madison County, Alabama follows a Standard Parenting Clause that is included in the Standard Custody Schedule. This clause applies to all child custody arrangements in Madison County. While parents may vary from the court ordered custody schedule by mutual agreement, the Standard Parenting Clause may not be altered. The Parenting Clause serves as a guideline to appropriate behavior regarding not only the interactions between the parents, but the interaction between the parents and child(ren) as well. It also is a guideline regarding the appropriate behavior of the parent while the child(ren) is in that parent’s custody. If either parent fails to follow this clause, it could be grounds to file a petition for custody modification.
