Firm files lawsuit against negligent contractor

September 11, 2013

Our firm was recently retained to represent a homeowner that sought to have a “safe room” added to his home.  The contractor and/or subcontractors failed to follow industry standards and the appropriate specifications necessary to construct the safe room and make it safe.  The specifications were disregarded to the point that the “safe room” in question is in fact rather unsafe.  Our firm will seek all damages that are appropriate to see that our client gets the “safe room” for which he paid.  Obviously, in North Alabama, we can all understand why someone would take such precautions and if a company promises to build a safe shelter from the storms, that is exactly what the consumer ought to get.
