Firm kicks off Annual Toys for Tots Drive

Our firm started gathering Toys for Tots in 2012.  It happened almost by chance, when Jeremiah saw a news report that the Toys for Tots was not going to be able to meet the hundreds of families.  Thanks to social media, our clients, and other local lawyers, we were able to raise nearly $3,000.00 in donations and toys in a very short period of time.  Each year, we have worked to reach a higher goal.  We are proud of this work but eager to make this year make last year look small by comparison.  Our firm loves to give back to the community we represent.

Please consider bringing us a new, unwrapped toy that your own child would love.  We will pick up any toy worth $50.00 or more.  No time to shop? Send the elves in the picture!  Help us make children smile on Christmas morning.

Firm kicks off Annual Toys for Tots Drive!

We are so excited to announce the kickoff of our 4th Annual Toys for Tots Drive. Today is a day we have all been looking forward to all year, not just because the political season is now complete. Please help us make this year’s drive the biggest and best ever. You can drop off at our office unwrapped new toys for needy children. No time to shop? Make a cash donation and let your lawyers do the shopping for you.

We are coordinating with the Marines (like those in the picture) to shop according to the most substantial need. Some age groups are often overlooked. Help us make Christmas happier for a child in need.

Contact Jeremiah with questions or donations.

Christmas Charities Year Round-How you can help!

Our firm has partnered with another local business to support Christmas Charities Year Round.  If you have clothing, furniture, toys, and/or household goods that you no longer need, let us know.  We can arrange to have large donations picked up at your home or business and see that you get a receipt for tax deduction purposes.  Your accountant would tell you that, rather than putting these items in a yard sales for pennies, it is better for your tax return to donate these items to a worthy non-profit like Christmas Charities Year Round.

Here are some of the services provided locally by Christmas Charities Year Round:

  • Clothes, shoes & household items are provided free of charge from January through the end of October.
  • School supplies & school clothes/ uniforms are provided free of charge in July & August.
  • Toys & food are provided free of charge in November & December.
  • Life skills training & case management services are provided throughout the year.

Our firm is proud to serve our local community by working with organizations like these.  Keep an eye on our firm Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HodgesTrialLawyers) to learn when our Annual Toys for Tots Drive will begin!  We are excited to make this year’s drive the best yet.

You can be too “social” on social media

Careful with Facebook

If you ever find yourself in litigation, anything you post on social media could come back to “haunt” you.  You may find an adverse lawyer or insurance company digging through your account history, which means you could be in a car wreck or find yourself a divorce and have the need to respond to what you may have posted long ago.  Many people are using Twitter, Facebook, and others as a chance to share their “inner monologue” with the world without any filter.  No, an Instagram filter does not count.

Any time you use social media, consider the consequences of your posts.  The world we live in is not nearly as private at it used to be, regardless of your settings.  Post responsibly and NEVER while driving!
